TESTED POSITIVE

The world is filled with sick people. Nature of sickness however is different from one to another - psychological, financial, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and so on.

My focus in this short article however is on psychological sickness. Many people are in a race today because they want to fit into the society.

All for the sake of being in vogue, some people have got themselves involved in things that are uncalled for - Some enter into debt, some engage in prostitution, some have become swindlers, and all manner of things.

Although it is not a bad thing to use something that is in vogue, neither is it a curse not to use things that are not in vogue. However, your definition of what is in vogue will determine how you carry yourself about in the world.

Many people are in different problems today because they want to be in vogue in one area of their life or the other. Some in the possessions they want to control or own. While for others, it is in how they want to be seen - their appearance.

The temptation to always be in vogue is a lifetime pursuit. You can not exhaust the strength of the world's innovative exploration and production.

Day in day out, what is regarded as latest yesterday becomes obsolete today and that of today will also become outdated tomorrow.

Dictionary defines "vogue" as "the prevailing fashion or style." That is, something that is widely celebrated or considered "in town" amongst many other available types of the same products.

Wanting to be in vogue is as old as man. In Genesis 19:30-32, the Scriptures records that "Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, because he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. And on a faithful day, the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children— as is the custom all over the earth. So, she thought they had to by all means do something about marriage and conception.

So, after she had made up her mind, she said to her younger sister, "Let's get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line through our father."

What a sick decision driven by a malady thought!

Their problem cannot be far fetched, they have observed the lifestyle of the people in Sodom and Gomorrah. That was where they had lived since their childhood.

All these years, even though they were virgins, they had been obsessed with the fantasy of sexual immorality that was in vogue in the city. Though they were not involved, but they heard of it, and saw it.

There are many Christians today who seems are dignified children of God, but they are internally fantasizing about how they can also enjoy a bit of what is in vogue.

The only thing that restricts them is because they want to avoid public label.

Some would want to have premarital sex because it is in vogue.

Some wants to use trending gadgets, wear clothes in vogue, follow certain fashion trend at the expense of their relationship with God.

How far has the custom of this world, your environment and your workplace eaten deep into you?

Who is shaping your fashion sense?

Why are you into the business you are into now?

It is not bad to use latest things, dress nicely, look fashionable or "tush up", but it must not be at the expense of your relationship with God.

What's your test result - positive or negative?

What the Devil Fears

The devil fears where you are positioned in the spiritual realm, not the "spiritual" position you are holding.
